The K-Mart Auto Racing #8 Holden VK Commodore Group C is a distinctive entry from the 1984 James Hardie 1000. Driven by experienced privateer Warren Cullen and Formula One World Champion Alan Jones, the striking red, white and blue Commodore stood out on the Bathurst grid in what was an iconic era for Australian Touring Car Racing.

Prepared to the regulations of the time, the VK Commodore combined V8 power with evolving aerodynamics, representing Holden’s continued presence in Australia’s premier endurance race. While the factory-backed HDT VK Commodores dominated the race, entries like Cullen and Jones’ K-Mart-backed machine added depth and intrigue to the field, ultimately finishing in 4th place.

This release captures a moment from the final year of Group C, making it a meaningful addition for collectors passionate about Bathurst history.

This 1:43 scale model is scheduled to be produced in high detail sealed body die-cast with clear windows, detailed racing cockpit and undercarriage.
Comprised of over 40 individual metal and plastic parts plus multiple steps in paint and decoration finishing, this is a high quality collectors model for fans of this scale.
It will come in an exclusive one-off limited edition, presented in a display case with the model attached to a white base plate which features the car details printed on it. An individually numbered backing board featuring the edition number is also included as part of the package and acts as the Certificate of Authenticity for the release.
