Mercedes Pollmann 600 Hearse
Extremely detailed interior and exterior

There’s an unusual tale behind this subject. The Mercedes 600 on which this hearse was based was originally bought by a wealthy German farmer in 1967 as a gift for his wife and was finished in champagne gold. After the farmer’s wife ran off with another man, the car was abandoned in an airport car park before being reunited with its owner who couldn’t bear to keep it and sold it to coach builders Pollmann, on the condition that they convert it to a hearse! The car then found its way to America and was re-imported into Germany in 2004 before being restored. It’s a magnificently proportioned machine and this very well finished resin cast model matches photos of the restored machine very well, right down to the logo of the current owner, a funeral director in southern Germany.
