Team Valvoline GRM #34 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 – 2026 Repco Bathurst 1000 Wildcard – James Moffat / Nathan Herne

The 2026 Repco Bathurst 1000 marked a special return to Mount Panorama for Garry Rogers Motorsport, with the iconic Australian racing team making its first Supercars appearance in six years, fielding a wildcard entry for James Moffat and Nathan Herne aboard the #34 Team Valvoline GRM Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

The return carried significant emotion for the team, honouring the legacy of its late founder Garry Rogers, who played an important role in Australian motorsport for decades. With long-time supporters Valvoline and Repco returning as major partners, the #34 Camaro featured a striking retro-inspired livery paying tribute to GRM’s famous 2000 Bathurst 1000 victory with Jason Bargwanna and Garth Tander.

More than 25 years after that memorable triumph, the familiar colours returned to Australia’s Great Race on a modern Gen3 Chevrolet Camaro, connecting two generations of Garry Rogers Motorsport history. The entry was a fitting celebration of the team’s Bathurst heritage, its long-standing partnerships and the people who helped build its reputation as one of Australia’s most respected independent racing operations.

The special wildcard also marked the long-awaited Supercars debut of Nathan Herne, who had originally been scheduled to compete for GRM at Bathurst in 2020. Partnering with experienced campaigner James Moffat, the pair represented a combination of emerging talent and experience as GRM returned to the Supercars grid.

Despite an early setback during Sunday’s 161-lap contest, Moffat and Herne persevered to bring the #34 Camaro home in 19th position, successfully completing the team’s return to Mount Panorama.

While the race result was secondary to the occasion, the significance of seeing Garry Rogers Motorsport back at Bathurst, carrying a livery inspired by one of its greatest achievements, made this one of the more nostalgic and meaningful entries in the 2026 field.

Authentic Collectables are pleased to be replicating this special piece of Australian motorsport history with a limited edition model release, celebrating the legacy of Garry Rogers Motorsport, its famous Bathurst victory and a memorable return to Australia’s Great Race.
